“It is about the sound”. Chuck Morrison has been building musical instruments since 1974 and was the originator of the Flatiron Mandolin, a copy his grandfather’s Gibson Army/Navy mandolin, which he began building in 1976. Throughout his career in Lutherie, he has maintained an interest in all forms of acoustic guitar and the physics of sound as it relates to acoustic guitars. Prior to that time, around 1974, he built his first guitar.
We met Chuck at our first guitar show in 2012 and became instant friends! I clearly remember the first instrument of his I played, which was shipped to us. (“I was tuning it for the first time, and was immediately stunned at the tone and projection of the guitar before I even finished tuning”).
